Bangkok Trip Day 3

Day 3 - Tuesday 11Jan11 (Ym's 24th Bdae)
It's the first time we're celebrating one of our sister's bdae overseas. Congrats to ym for being the first to turn 24 (don't whack me when you see this). From the bottom of my heart, I wish that you'll be happy and free from worries till the rest of your life. Together with weimin, I believe that's going to happen :)

Ok, starting our day with the Hotel's breakfast again with the menu changes a little every two days. We woke up early as we got to prepare for Chinatown exploring. If I didn't remember wrongly, Fang, Horsey, Rong Po and Kevin woke up late and therefore they had to rush. Rong Po even wore sleeping clothes and came down for breakfast just like that. A total Singaporean. Ha!

Everyday after breakfast, we developed a must-do event, the "feel" event. We would all go back to our rooms or the hotel lobby washroom to do it. Then we gathered back at the hotel lobby again to take cab to Chinatown. Split into 2 cabs but still, we got separated when we reached Chinatown (the area is very big and quite lost). But we eventually met up with each other with the help of the SUPER walkie talkie.

How do I describe Chinatown? A place with a lot of dusted bags and stuffs (I believed that almost all items there had collected dust for a long period of time). I did manage to buy some super cheap small storage bags at 10 Baht each (approx. $0.43 each). It was really amazing that Fang bought quite a lot of stuffs as we all thought Chinatown was not a good shopping stop.

Shark fin's soup and bird nest dessert were the main reason why we went to Chinatown. We did manage to find a shop that sells all these food, including dim sum and main courses (but super limited). The food is rather expensive and I only find it normal. Never mind, it's the experience we're looking for.

After Chinatown, our whole gang headed to MBK shopping mall for shopping. The main purpose is targeting at NaRaYa bags. Yes! All girls rushed to the NaRaYa shop once we got there, while the guys went for a sip of coffee at Star Bucks. Kevin was very thoughtful to buy a cup of Hot Chocolate for Weili when she casually mentioned it in the cab (Kevin thought we would came shortly after the NaRaYa stop but we didn't as we went crazy buying this and that). What can you expect from girls when they stepped into a Bag Shop? The Hot Chocolate eventually turned into Cold Chocolate and Kevin had no choice but to drink it up himself (can't possibly gave Weili the Cold drink).

A few hours of shopping after, we met up for dinner. Japanese food was delicious and fulfilling (big portions of rice and noodles). We really appreciate a lot for the Salmon treat from Kevin. Thanks! Headed back to the Hotel to prepare ourselves for the late night event, Bed Supper Club.

Ym's insisted activity of the day, DRINK DRANK DRUNK! To put it simple, it's a club for drinking and dancing. We were the first to reach (ladies get in for free before 11pm) and it's real weird. Nevertheless, we found some games to pass the time before the night starts. When it's nearing midnight, the music, party, dancing starts then. We were quite shy to enter the dance floor initially but summoned up our courage to step in for a hot dance (ym wanted a hot dance with cute guys badly for her bdae). There wasn't any cute guys which was the only disappointment of the day (defeats our main purpose) but we got to know that Rong Po and Horsey can really dance well. Thumbs up!

Hotel Sweet Hotel~

Bangkok Trip Day 2

Day 2 – Monday 10Jan11
We had our 1st BKK breakfast at 930am at the ground level of our Hotel. I always look forward to having breakfast during overseas trip, especially when Breakfast is provided by the Hotel as I believe that a good breakfast is going to make your day :)

The guys hoped on to a van (from the tailor) and headed to custom-make their suits. As for we girls, went to Platinum Mall and Platunam Market for SHOPPING! Yes! Can’t exactly tell you how excited we were. If it’s your first time to visit the mall, you ought to get lost. Ha! There were countless shops with a total of 6 – 7 levels, with each level selling a certain category of stuffs.

WHOLESALE is the key word at Platinum and WE LOVE IT! We split into different teams, according to different shopping speed. Ym by herself; Weili and Me a team; and Fang sisters a team. But ym joined our team not long after as wholesale is cheaper. All of us had gone crazy over there. I bought quite some dresses at 160 – 200 Baht each (approx $7 - $8+). Fang’s the biggest winner as she bought a Betty Boop luggage at a very cheap price (as compare to S’pore). Can you believe how cheap it is?

The only disadvantage is that the shops are simply too much or should I use countless. Weili and I started from the top level and when we walked till the 4th level, we were aching and dying of tiredness but could only push ourselves to carry on with our determination. SHOP TILL YOU DROP DEAD! LOL!

At evening time, we headed back to the Hotel and prepare and dressed ourselves up for the Calypso Cabaret Show at Asia Hotel. It’s a musical performance put up by the trans and males. But before that, we had dinner at the Hotel and had a mini “speed dating” session again. Ha! Ym with Rong Po; Weili with Kevin; Fang with Horsey; me with ch; and FangQi with Henry. Anybody wants any SALMON? That’s the classic tease of the trip. Kevin ordered Salmon for someone and anyone else who really likes to eat salmon. Aww~ So sweet!

Calypso Cabaret Show was great except for some disturbing scenes (high pitch tone singing and extreme performance). But overall, they still earned themselves a round of applause for their hard work and effort.

After the show, we proceed to the Sirocco Sky Bar for a chill-out cum drinking session before we head back to the Hotel. Although Day 2 was a super tiring day but it’s all worthwhile.

Going to head towards the shopping mall :)

too tired after walking and dragging our feet so grab a chocolate banana crepe

well dressed up and had our dinner at the Hotel's restaurant

Bangkok Trip Day 1

I took quite some time to tidy up the photos that my friends and I took during the Bangkok Trip a few days ago, and I have not finish it yet. Well, I'll just put up whatever I have on hand to let you envy us (What a SHOW OFF -_-).

Day 1 - Sunday 9Jan11
Arrived at Changi Airport at about 9am. Had noodles and rice for breakfast (which is consider heavy). Reached Bangkok Airport but got stuck in the immigration area due to overwhelming human traffic and slow working officers. We managed to reach the Hotel (Twin Tower Hotel) by 3 plus. Seems like an unlucky day to start off the Bangkok Trip but to our surprise, we got a better deal. Showing up late at the Hotel left us with a free upgrade of rooms - from superior to executive rooms (all superior rooms were taken up by early customers but we had already booked beforehand). Now this is what I call SHIOK! After clearing our luggage, we proceed to Chatuchak for the weekend market shopping (reached at 5 plus and it's closing at 6pm -_-). Met Mich squatting on the roadside outside Chatuchuk and got excited all of a sudden (it's so rare to meet a friend overseas especially when it's not arranged). Did some quick shopping and managed to buy some stuffs as the night market is open. Ym Weili and me bought a super cool bracelet and we all LOVE it! Lastly, we had a drink, drank, drunk session just before bed.

checking in at the airport

while waiting for our flight
this is what we love to do - taking pics everywhere

last rest before going on board Jetstar

OS: 2nd day schedule shall be updated in a few days time. I was too tired to continue blogging (my eye lids got super heavy).

D.I.Y Certificate

I was wondering what present should I get for my tuition student, Geraldo for christmas (he's a christian). Then the thought of making a certificate to encourage him for his hard work during the previous years strike my mind.

The thought was there but no action was taken (Emm.. Was always busy with something else). This week onwards, then I started to have some concept on it. My final masterpiece? Damn I must really say that I'm very pleased. Although I copied the format out from a ready-made website, but I redo it myself (the ready-made copy had restrictions to words and an ugly website address on it which is not going to work!). I believed my student would definitely like it a lot.

I'll also be giving his mother and him a Swaroski crystal-made christmas tree hp accessory each (D.I.Y by zonghong but I bought most of the Swaroski crystals and zonghong sponsor some) as I think that it's simply gorgeous (I had one too). I'll upload the pictures next time :)
